and now for a history lesson…
2024: Current…
Stand by for the bands hand typed brand new and fresh ABOUT US UPDATE getting mentally mulled over even as I type this here sentence. Needless to say its going to be quiet an epic onslaught of current plans and hypothetical hopes fairly chock full of the hyperbole and exaggerations all while maintaining direct eye contact and delivering very very true truths.
2023: The year of cutting teeth…
As Ezra & Bard commenced their 1st year of duo gigging, they also found their way into the SoundWeavers & Summit Horns, a great big beautiful 9 piece band, performing some real gems plucked right out of the dreams of the magnificent Mike Lizotte. This certainly took a slice out of the calendar & sidelined our original release schedule, but the reward from this experience have been ripe!
This didn’t slow down our development of our live cover sets which we got to perform all up and down the North West Coast of Tasmania, gaining many followers, great reviews & marched right through many milestones of personal and professional development.
2022: How it started….
Twas the Christmas of COVID, when the good uncle Nicho interrogated nephew Ezra on what kind of journey of musicality he finds himself wishing to embark upon. Hearing “Well Sir, it’s the endeavour of expressive lead guitar prowess which I consider the most exciting of all paths a human being could choose”, Good Uncle Nicho declared, “Well then nephew Ezra, I know just the the crazy old belligerent wizard, I’ll call the Bard right now”, which he did, that very Christmas day.
Ezra seemed very polite, but I knew what he was really asking: “Bard, save me from this acoustic guitar strumming folk music mayhem, I’ve got the red blood of a lead guitarist and it’s time I broke out of this diabolical cowboy chord prison.” So I showed him the blues pentatonic and a bunch of sneaky guitar tricks only someone with the courage of a mountain lion tamer would want to know.
Report from 1st guitar lesson
Time flew by pretty fast, Ezra performing the lead roll in the Devonport Choral Societies “Buddy Holly Show” to high acclaim and standing ovation, after which Ezra, now a veteran of thespian stardom which obviously resulted in an extra spicy dedication to the art of guitar improvisation, returned to the Bard declaring himself fit to jam.
“Jam started, then ended, but not before decimating all rules of common decency in a diabolical display of improvised majesty.”
Witness to 1st jam.
So, that day they decided to make a band.
What happened next is a story for which only the device of an 80’s action montage could properly tell. Training, Jamming, Learning, Planning, Victories, all to an upbeat and intense toe tapping tune.
Now, ready to gig, this undeniable force of weapons grade musical mayhem have the pleasure of pursuing sets in the local music scene.
The 1st gig came, and went, hired to defend the local community from a helicopter dropping presents during kite day, countless first victories were achieved despite combating technical faux pas which may have derailed a lessor enthusiastic duo. Great fun was had, multiple fresh improv jams were conjured and delivered in-between the glorious cover songs specifically chosen to stir the hearts and minds of an attentive captive audience.
From then on.. Tell the Others began preparing recorded material for release, in the pursuit of personal bests and the delivery of this fresh, fun and uniquely genre blended authentic originals and cover songs.
